Life Drawing Task 17

For our last session, our model was clothed, and just like every session we did some quick sketches:

After this we drew the model holding a broom to achieve perspective, and even tried mixed media:

Overall drawing the model clothed was an interesting experience, the detail on the clothes was a bit hard at first but I feel that it was quite useful to know how to draw folds and such. I believe that these sessions were fairly useful for practicing, however I did feel that they got a bit too repetitive after a while and that the clothed model added a new angle, but I do feel grateful for getting this experience.

Life Drawing Task 16

Quick sketches to start off the session:

After this the model walked around and paused in 1 minute intervals, at first I drew a stick figure to capture the pose, but then I tried drew a silhouette and achieved decent results, and doing this also helped with my drawing speed.

Lastly we drew the model in perspective using circular indicators lined up around them:

Personally I believe the best of these was the first perspective drawing, where the circles are properly aligned and shaped which gives a more believable feeling of depth.

Life Drawing Task 15

As usual we warmed up with some sketches:

After this we drew the model withing a frame, at first this was difficult but I feel it got a bit easier to do, and that framing the model helped keep their proportions in check:

Lastly we practiced with hands again:

I felt this time my block method for hands ended up not working as well, however this could of just been down to the poses I drew.

Life Drawing Task 14

Quick sketches as usual:

The next part was drawing the model with different perspectives in order to practice with scaling across distance:

In the last couple of minutes we drew hands again:

I feel that I delivered well on the hands again. But asides that with the perspective drawing the 2nd one has off proportions when it comes to the leg, and the first one is okay, but overall the last one has a nice subtle use of detail and the silhouette is accurate and demonstrates depth well.

Life Drawing Task 13

Quick sketches first:

Then for this I tried to emphasize the tones on the model, but I didn't seem to add enough definition and contrast:

Next we turned the lights off, and had the only light in the room be the radiator for the model, I tried the shading again and I feel it turned out a lot better:

For this last part I focused on the legs of the model to practice shading with the extreme light:

Out of the last two I feel the last is better, I enjoyed trying out extreme lighting and how it wraps around the body, I do however need to practice on defining the tones better, but other than that the shading in extreme lighting shows that I do have a basic understanding.

Life Drawing Task 12

Like the start of every session we did quick sketches:

Then we did 2 drawings, where we had to experiment with at least 2 different media on the same image, the first was blue and purple crayon:

Then I used orange and green felt tip:

After this we practiced drawing the model's feet:

I feel that drawing feet was more difficult than hands, and I struggled to gain the correct shape (although the one in red looks pretty good). I also really like the second mixed media drawing as the colours compliment each other as well as clash enough to give a solid contrast.

Life Drawing Task 11

Fisrt, the quick sketches:

After this, we used our knowledge of the different muscle groups to draw and label the model:

After labeling, we practice drawing hands, using either our ones or the models. I used mine and practiced by drawing a rectangular base shape of my hand pose and added small details afterward:

I feel that this method of using blocks to get the basic hand shape (with an actual reference) can make a very accurate drawing of a hand, and I'm quite happy with how these came out considering the difficult nature of hands.

Life Drawing Task 10

Just like every task, here are some quick sketches to start off with:

After this we used different media and drew the full figure:

After this we focused on drawing the model's face, for this I tired pencil and charcoal:

I feel thatsome of the model's facial features are shaped right, but them alltogether don't form a believable face, but I do feel that this was good practice in drawing a real face.

Life Drawing Task 9

Firstly, we did our practice sketches:

After these, we were tasked with drawing the full body and had to label the areas of key bones, as lining up our research of the human skeleton and applying it to a live model is good practice:

After this, we did another full body drawing with any medium we desired, however mine came out a bit too faint to be picked up by my phone camera:

For the last part of this session we had to focus an a single area and draw it in detail, we did this 3 times:

Although i'm disappointed with the faintness of the second one and the hand of the last one, I like the shape and detail put into the first one despite experimentation with showing highlights.
