Battle Arena: Statue Concept

For my battle arena I need a statue, and I decided to compile a moodboard of images related to godess and knight statues, as well as perhaps a mage character.

From this moodboard, I sketched up a design, and from this I produced a model sheet that I will reference when I begin modelling.

The statue's texture of stone is still unplanned, hence the model sheet being left white.

Human Anatomy: Muscles

Following on from drawing the human skeleton, I have gone a layer up and I am now going to look into the muscles. Like before I am going to begin by sketching some key areas using research.

Here I put in some detail as to what these area look like up close, and labelled a few also, I then went on to do a diagram of the muscles similar to the skeleton:

In this diagram I did a quick paint up and labelled the key areas in a clear full view for easier reference when I look over anatomy basics.

Life Drawing Task 11

Fisrt, the quick sketches:

After this, we used our knowledge of the different muscle groups to draw and label the model:

After labeling, we practice drawing hands, using either our ones or the models. I used mine and practiced by drawing a rectangular base shape of my hand pose and added small details afterward:

I feel that this method of using blocks to get the basic hand shape (with an actual reference) can make a very accurate drawing of a hand, and I'm quite happy with how these came out considering the difficult nature of hands.

Life Drawing Task 10

Just like every task, here are some quick sketches to start off with:

After this we used different media and drew the full figure:

After this we focused on drawing the model's face, for this I tired pencil and charcoal:

I feel thatsome of the model's facial features are shaped right, but them alltogether don't form a believable face, but I do feel that this was good practice in drawing a real face.

Life Drawing Task 9

Firstly, we did our practice sketches:

After these, we were tasked with drawing the full body and had to label the areas of key bones, as lining up our research of the human skeleton and applying it to a live model is good practice:

After this, we did another full body drawing with any medium we desired, however mine came out a bit too faint to be picked up by my phone camera:

For the last part of this session we had to focus an a single area and draw it in detail, we did this 3 times:

Although i'm disappointed with the faintness of the second one and the hand of the last one, I like the shape and detail put into the first one despite experimentation with showing highlights.

Studying the Human Skeleton

Using references from google I sketched in my notebook some areas of the body that I believe to be important, I then drew a full body skeleton in front, side and back view with the bones and joints labelled:

Doing this will hopefully give me a better idea of how the body is shaped and moves, so that drawing human characters will be easier.

Life Drawing Task 8

In this session, we attempted perspective again however with just the body, asides this however the overall session did not include a lot of experimentation. First of all, some practice sketches:
I am pleased with how the warmup sketches came out, as the proportions are accurate and not much is missed out. After this we put our paper on the floor and drew the model from a low angle, meaning that the proportions would look slightly off because of the perspective.

Out of the 3 of these, my personal favourite is the middle one, as it has good propotrtions and they are also scaled to the perspective I was attempting to achieve. For this nest part of the session, we had to draw the figure 3 times but at different angles:

The one I like least is the red one, as the shape and sizes of the body are all disproportionate, however the one next to it is my best: the shape has the model's likeness and the placement of the chair, mat and bodyparts are accurate.
