Digital Painting 1

In our first week, we were instructed to digitally paint the robot below, being given the advice of paint large and add smaller details later, personally I feel I could've done better:

Our next attempt at digital painting involved going over existing lineart, and applying colour and shade to it, I feel that this came out well, and I like the use of coloured lighting:

For one of our homework assignments, we had to take a mech silhouette and add form to it by giving shading in a limited palette. We then made it appear that they were lined up into the distance, which is an effect that I like; I also feel that I could've added more detail to this however:

We then had another go at painting from a reference image, where we learned the importance of keeping the painting proportionate, as well as using the right colours:

We did this again and producec the following result, this time we had more focus on judging the colours by eye and using layers to make adjustments easier:

I hope to apply these skills to future digital works that I make, and refine my own style with it.
